Raising a family in Parkville -thoughts?
Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 11 months ago and Homes are going for about $557,100 on average. It's a a small town city with about 8,022 people. You can expect to pay around $1,078 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Limited dining options
- Poor road conditions
Should I be concerned? TIA! The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
