Should I move to Parkwood or stay in Tampa?

Longtime lurker here, I'm single, late 20s, and The unemployment rate is 12.5%, which is concerning. Am I overthinking this?

I'm a contractor and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 6 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much wild but now it's pretty good.

Bought a house here in 2017 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Hope this helps!.
