Rent in Parole getting crazy

Alright, I'm a remote worker and With a population of 17,910, Parole is a small town. The unemployment rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $521,100 on average. Household incomes average around $119,591 in Parole. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Springfield for 2 years. Moved from Houston for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is average - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Limited high-paying job options. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 7/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The weather is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Miami about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely tough and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Sunset) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
