Hey everyone, Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $2,187 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What would you do?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The healthcare is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
