The median home value here is around $521,100, which is pretty steep. What would you do? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Greenfield area are tough. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a social worker, 27, moved here 5 years ago from Denver. I've lived in Springfield and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Property taxes are high
3. The healthcare situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Springfield: Great for couples. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Riverside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The nightlife scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is underrated in most areas.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The community vibe scene is decent
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The job market is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
