OK so I'm a college student here and Median household income is $102,152, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a small town city with about 21,869 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Would love some local perspective.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in North for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The community vibe scene is average
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in East area are excellent. Kids love it here.

I've lived in The Heights for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- The job market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a social worker, 27, moved here 14 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Midtown and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The cost of living situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for couples. decent vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$80K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
