Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. Median household income is $103,778, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 136K, Pasadena is a mid-size city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
