Relocating to Pasadena Hills, FL -pros and cons?

Hey folks, My partner and I are It's a a small town city with about 12,848 people. The median home value here is around $305,300, which seems about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What do you all think? Thanks for reading. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely decent and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Fairview) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Springfield for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- The walkability scene is decent

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Moved here from San Diego about 13 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to walkability but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 53, moved here 9 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The walkability situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for remote workers. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $50K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much manageable but now it's decent.
