Moving to Pasadena with kids — good idea?

Hi all, We have two kids and Poverty rate is 14.7%, which is around average. It's a a mid-size city city with about 149K people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance! The suburbs are where most families end up.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in government. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2019 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
