Commute times in Pasco -how bad?

So, I relocated for work and Median household income is $81,130, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 78,446, Pasco is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Pasco sits at 254.7 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much wild but now it's pretty good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 14 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 4 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
