First post here. Poverty rate is 4.7%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $90,513 in Pataskala. The median home value here is around $277,600, which seems about average. Homes are going for about $277,600 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in North for 12 years. Moved from Portland for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
education is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is solid - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Winters are long and cold. And school system can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Came here for work and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The pet-friendliness is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cost of living is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..
