Best areas to explore in Patchogue?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 49-year-old project manager and Crime rate is something to consider -Patchogue sits at 22.0 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 12,368 people. You can expect to pay around $2,191 for rent here. Poverty rate is 6.1%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Worth the trade-offs? TIA! It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Sunset area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in legal. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
