So, Been living here since 2013. It's a a mid-size city city with about 158K people. Crime rate is something to consider — Paterson sits at 841.5 per 100K. With a population of 158K, Paterson is a mid-size city. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.
