Considering Patterson vs Salt Lake City -help me decide
Hello, We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $137,200 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Patterson sits at 32.7 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What do you all think?

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely decent and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
