Remote worker thinking about Paulding

The median home value here is around $108,400, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Paulding sits at 184.8 per 100K. Rent is about $748/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I've lived in North for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- The community vibe scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
