First time home buyer in Paulsboro

I've been here for 20 years and It's a a small town city with about 6,213 people. The median home value here is around $169,400, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $169,400 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Pros:

- Close to nature
- Easy commute
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited cultural events
- Not enough green space

I've been in Riverside for 11 years. Moved from Denver for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Road conditions need improvement. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
