What I wish I knew before living in Pawtucket

Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Pawtucket sits at 406.8 per 100K. The median home value here is around $286,200, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 5.0%, which is about average. It's a a smaller city city with about 75,280 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thoughts? Thanks for reading. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I work in government here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is tough. Hope this helps!.
