Anyone else love living in Payette?
Been meaning to ask this. I'm retired and What do you all think? Cheers. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much established but now it's decent.

I've lived in Uptown for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- The safety scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for family and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The food scene is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 13 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The cultural scene is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
