Moving to Payson with kids -good idea?

I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 4.3%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $343,200 on average. The median home value here is around $343,200, which seems about average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What would you do? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Denver about 4 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
