Alright, The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Should I be concerned? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Greenfield area are average. Kids love it here.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a electrician, 27, moved here 8 years ago from Houston. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Can feel isolated
3. The food scene situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for young professionals. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $100K-$120K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 14 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
