Day-to-day life in Peabody, MA

Not sure if this has been asked before, but It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Would love some local perspective.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a data analyst, 38, moved here 12 years ago from Houston. I've lived in East and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The cost of living situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for retirees. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Houston, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Uptown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The weather scene is average

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
