Grocery stores in Peabody -recommendations?

Longtime lurker here, I'm single, late 30s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Peabody sits at 231.6 per 100K. With a population of 54,180, Peabody is a smaller city. You can expect to pay around $1,902 for rent here. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,902/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'm a data analyst and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 5 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2019 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 41, moved here 11 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in East and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The walkability situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for young professionals. average vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I work in consulting here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is underrated. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Fairview for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The healthcare scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..
