Peabody in the winter -how bad?

Been meaning to ask this. I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $566,200, which is pretty steep. Household incomes average around $95,278 in Peabody. Poverty rate is 5.1%, which is pretty low. With a population of 54,180, Peabody is a smaller city. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What do you all think? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Phoenix about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
