The median home value here is around $566,200, which is pretty steep. With a population of 54,180, Peabody is a smaller city. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What would you do? Appreciate any input.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 14 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

No regrets on my end..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
