Anyone regret moving to Peachtree Corners?

Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation? Cheers.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Riverside. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much competitive but now it's solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely tough and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Westside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Springfield) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely average and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Downtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Nashville about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 3 years. Moved from Atlanta for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Can feel isolated. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 4 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 28, moved here 15 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Maple Ridge and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Limited shopping options
3. The cultural scene situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for singles. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $70K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in East for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..
