Best industries in Peapack and Gladstone right now
Been meaning to ask this. We have two kids and Household incomes average around $184,231 in Peapack and Gladstone. Median household income is $184,231, which feels pretty solid for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks! It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a social worker, 55, moved here 1 years ago from Portland. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Strong job market in several industries
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The cost of living situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for young professionals. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Portland, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $80K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

I've been here 12 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've been here 7 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
