Hello, I relocated for work and Average temperature is around 72°F, so it's warm year-round. Homes are going for about $330,900 on average. Household incomes average around $112,470 in Pearland. It's a a mid-size city city with about 126K people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Would love some local perspective. Appreciate any input. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Maple Ridge. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in marketing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 7 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a sales manager, 37, moved here 15 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Eastside and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The outdoor recreation situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for families. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The pet-friendliness is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
