Is Pecatonica worth it salary-wise?

Hey everyone, Homes are going for about $134,900 on average. The median home value here is around $134,900, which is actually reasonable. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Would love some local perspective. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.
