Cheapest neighborhoods in Pekin?

Hey everyone, Born and raised here. You can expect to pay around $792 for rent here. Poverty rate is 9.8%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $118,200 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Appreciate any input. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Denver it's better than expected.
