Homes are going for about $278,900 on average. The median home value here is around $278,900, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Pelham sits at 88.9 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What are your go-to spots? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I work in government here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Old Town for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- The healthcare scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
