I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $179,561 in Pelham. You can expect to pay around $2,288 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Pelham sits at 715.9 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Worth the trade-offs? The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Raleigh about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
