Moving to Pell City for work -advice?

Curious what people think. Crime rate is something to consider -Pell City sits at 140.4 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Let me know your thoughts. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I'm a electrician and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 2 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.
