Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 12 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely solid and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Eastside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for school and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The healthcare is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Charlotte about 8 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..
