Pembroke Pines job market vs Raleigh

Military spouse here. Rent is about $1,910/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 7.6%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $81,675 in Pembroke Pines. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
