Thinking about relocating to Pembroke Pines from Seattle

Alright, Been living here since 2007. Median household income is $81,675, which feels pretty solid for the area. Does this match your experience?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Austin about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..

I work in real estate here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 12 years. Moved from Phoenix for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is improving - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Bugs and humidity in summer. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Boston it's decent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 3 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..
