Cheapest neighborhoods in Pendleton?

Been meaning to ask this. We're a young couple and Rent is about $938/month for a decent place. Median household income is $70,179, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $938 for rent here. Household incomes average around $70,179 in Pendleton. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Close to nature
- Low taxes
- Lots of new development
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
- Not enough green space
Is this normal for Pendleton? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely underrated and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community vibe is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Oak Park for 8 years. Moved from Austin for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is tough - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Oak Park schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Property taxes are high. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 7/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Houston about 5 years ago. The main reasons were school and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is solid.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
