Hi all, We're a young couple and Rent is about $1,225/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Oak Park area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.
