Should I move to Pensacola or stay in Orlando?

OK so Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $1,209 for rent here. Rent is about $1,209/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 69--F, so the weather is moderate. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The school system is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great farm-to-table places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much established but now it's solid.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Tampa it's surprisingly good.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 1 years. Moved from LA for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is decent - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited shopping options. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
