Is Peoria getting better or worse?

Anyone else feel this way? My partner and I are Homes are going for about $429,400 on average. The median home value here is around $429,400, which is pretty steep. Crime rate is something to consider — Peoria sits at 233.1 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,743 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I overthinking this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is improving in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Denver about 3 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.
