Remote worker thinking about Peoria

Alright, My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $429,400 on average. The median home value here is around $429,400, which is pretty steep. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Austin about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..
