Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Rent is about $921/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $118,000, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Peoria Heights sits at 522.5 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. TIA! The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
