Curious what people think. I'm a teacher here and Homes are going for about $558,300 on average. The median home value here is around $558,300, which is pretty steep. Poverty rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Worth the trade-offs? Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Baltimore about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

I've been here 1 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
