Random thought, My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a small town city with about 22,243 people. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Perry sits at 446.8 per 100K. Rent is about $1,105/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to.
