Perry quality of life -am I missing something?

Just moved here 16 months ago and With a population of 1,085, Perry is a small town. The median home value here is around $173,800, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Poor road conditions
- Not enough green space
Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a physical therapist and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
