Random thought, I'm a teacher here and Homes are going for about $791,100 on average. The median home value here is around $791,100, which is pretty steep. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Should I be concerned? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to San Francisco it's solid.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Eastside for 1 years. Moved from Nashville for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
education is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Road conditions need improvement. And nightlife can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'm a data analyst and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Vietnamese places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
