Most overrated things about Perth Amboy

Hey everyone, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $339,200, which seems about average. Median household income is $58,490, which feels about average for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs?

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is tough in most areas.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Pittsburgh it's average.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely solid and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
