Perth Amboy quality of life -am I missing something?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a 24-year-old physical therapist and Homes are going for about $339,200 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for Perth Amboy? TIA! Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 14 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..
