Moving from Baltimore to Peru next month

I've been here for 6 years and Rent is about $879/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Has anyone dealt with this? The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Nashville about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
