Best coffee shops in Peru?

Random thought, I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Peru sits at 315.3 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Thoughts?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Miami it's better than expected.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in East area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much wild but now it's surprisingly good.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- The pet-friendliness scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Atlanta about 1 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is decent.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
