OK so I've been here for 11 years and Household incomes average around $72,845 in Petal. You can expect to pay around $958 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Miami it's surprisingly good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 3 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The healthcare is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Oak Park area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 11 years. Moved from Chicago for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Dating scene is rough. And dating scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much affordable but now it's hit or miss.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
